Brock HUB Assistant
We have an exciting opportunity for a Brock HUB Assistant to join our team on a part-time, permanent basis (Term-Time only). In return, you will receive a salary of £22,071 - £25,280 FTE (pro-rata if part time) dependent on experience.
We are a high achieving college who attract around 2,800 sixth form students across the region each year. We are based within the stunning New Forest National Park and offer our students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.
About the role:
As the Brock Hub Assistant you will help to continually improve the learning experience and achievement of students through providing support and maintaining effective learning resources and environment. Working days and hours as follows: Monday 10:15-13:15, Tuesday 10:15-14:15, Thursday 10:15-14:15 and Friday 10:15-13:15
Responsibilities as our Brock Hub Assistant will include:
- Supervision of Brock Hub users to ensure a quiet, purposeful working atmosphere is maintained, ensuring the code of conduct is adhered to.
- Assisting in administrative and clerical duties associated with the Brock Hub.
- Operation of a loan counter service to staff and students.
- Communication with stakeholders such as learners, parents, HOC’s etc.
- Attending Open and other college events as required.
- Maintenance of Brock Hub stock and environment to include shelving, watering plants, filing, tidying, sequencing and book mending. Sending relevant helpdesk requests when needed.
- Produce student bulletin slides and send to relevant staff.
- To undertake such other duties commensurate with the grade of the post that may be reasonably required.
- Maintain learning environment.
- Carry out tours and inductions within the HUB and also in classrooms.
- Collecting and recording data.
- Regular mailbox checking throughout the day and actions as needed.
As our Brock Hub Assistant you’ll ideally have:
- Level 3 qualification or equivalent
- Dealing with members of the public
- Working in a customer service environment
- Up to date IT skills including familiarity with MS Office packages, especially Excel, Outlook and Teams. internet and e-mail
- Good administrative and organisational skills
- Able to meet tight deadlines
- Have the ability to exercise firmness and diplomacy and to encourage the maintenance of an environment for quiet study.
- Commitment to take part in staff development and training
- Ability to vary working hours to accommodate the needs of the Brock Hub
