We have an exciting opportunity for a Counselling Tutor (evening classes, 1 night per week from September 2025) to join our dedicated and enthusiastic team based in Brockenhurst. You will be working on a claims basis and in return, you will receive a salary of £28.39 to £41.17 per hour DOE and qualifications.

Responsibilities as our Counselling Tutor include:

  • Deliver the level 4 Counselling Course to Adults as agreed with the HOC
  • Mark registers and provide documentation in line with College policies
  • Work closely with the HOC, particularly with regards to the recruitment, monitoring
  • Pay due attention to the principles of inclusive learning
  • Contribute to the design, delivery and future planning and development of curriculum
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments and research in Counselling
  • Promote the sharing of good practice in the development of teaching methods and strategies.
  • Participate in the College’s Lesson Observation Scheme.
  • Participate in staff development and training
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge through continuing professional development and College training days

The ideal Assessor in Counselling Tutor will need:

  • Level 4 Counselling/Psychotherapy or related L4 qualification
  • Teaching qualification or be willing to work towards alongside your role
  • Extensive experience as Counsellor with a minimum of 3 years in the role,
  • Experience of teaching and/or a desire to teach adults
  • Evidence of knowledge and/or experience of innovative teaching and learning techniques
  • Mentoring and supporting team members
  • Knowledge and understanding of current developments in Counselling/Psychotherapy
  • Knowledge of appropriate methods of involving students in feedback on their programmes
