Job Description

The Role

As a Fitness Tutor you will be expected to continually assess the learning experience and achievement of adult students through effective teaching and course coordination. You will contribute to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum, as well as teaching on courses as agreed.  We are looking for individuals who can pay due attention to inclusive learning environments and styles. This will involve supporting students with learning difficulties and disabilities and providing suitable resources and activities accordingly.

Additionally, you will work with area organisers regarding recruitment, student progression and reporting for the college.

This role will expect you to participate in enrolment and open events as well as staff training and development events.


Key responsibilities, skills and attitudes

·         Professional qualification in a relevant subject
·         Appropriate teacher training qualification (or working towards this whilst teaching)
·         Successful track record of teaching adults
·         Knowledge and understanding of current developments in the relevant curriculum area
·         Knowledge of health and safety requirements
·         Knowledge of methods of involving adults in learning
·         Flexibility
