Brockenhurst College has an exciting opportunity for a HR Assistant/Technician to join the team on a part time, fixed term basis until 31st December 2026. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £24,834 - £27,211 per annum DOE.

About the role

About the role:

As the HR Assistant you will provide a high-quality HR Service through both effective relationships and processes.

This role will involve working closely with HR Business Partners, and payroll colleagues, to achieve high quality service, and meet tight deadlines with a high level of accuracy.

Responsibilities as our HR Assistant will include:

  • Processing all employment changes e.g. variations to contracts, new starters, leavers etc.
  • Ensuring the HR systems are continuously maintained with accurate employee data.
  • Manipulating data from our integrated HR/Payroll System using Excel.
  • Producing accurate and timely scheduled and ad-hoc reports as appropriate.
  • Responding to all phone/email/face-to-face queries professionally.
  • Working closely with our Payroll team, ensuring that all changes are processed efficiently and effectively and that any queries are resolved satisfactorily.
  • Ensuring that all necessary pre-employment and safeguarding checks are carried out.

As our HR Assistant, you’ll ideally have:

  • GCSE passes or equivalent including Maths and English
  • Knowledge of Computerised Systems.
  • A sound operational knowledge of structured transactional/administration processes and systems
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment or other similar customer facing role
  • Good attention to detail and ability to understand and apply complex information
  • Team player, able to work across departments to achieve compliance with Organisational procedures whilst also giving good customer service
