The Role:

The Independence Hub Lead will play a key role in developing and delivering a high‑quality programme that supports students to grow their independence in areas such as daily living, community engagement, personal development, and preparing for adulthood.

You will oversee the day‑to‑day running of the Hub, coordinate activities, work closely with staff and external partners, and ensure that every student receives tailored, meaningful support.

Responsibilities as our Independence Hub Lead will include:

  • Leading the development and delivery of the Independence Hub
  • Working directly with students to build confidence and independence
  • Coordinating staff, volunteers, and external agencies
  • Creating a positive, inclusive, and empowering environment
  • Monitoring progress and ensuring high‑quality outcomes
  • Contributing to the wider strategic development of the service

 As our Independence Hub Lead, we’re looking for someone who is:

  • Passionate about supporting young people
  • A strong communicator and natural leader
  • Creative, organised, and proactive
  • Able to build positive relationships with students, families, and professionals
  • Committed to promoting independence and inclusion
  • Experienced in education, high-quality teaching to both 16–25-year-olds and adult students with SEND including complex needs.
