Brockenhurst College are looking to recruit two Industry Placement Officers on a full-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £28,102 - £30,012 per annum DOE.

The Industry Placement Officer Role:

As our Industry Placement Officer, you will support all aspects of student work/industry placements. This includes preparing students for placement, ensuring all checks are completed and providing ongoing support to students, staff and employers throughout the placement process. The role also works closely with curriculum teams and external partners to maximise engagement, which in turn contributes to students’ wider development at college.

Responsibilities as our Industry Placement Officer will include:

  • Ensure that all students participating in work/industry placements have completed all relevant paperwork and are prepared for their placements before commencement.
  • Provide high quality advice and guidance to assist students, staff and industry employers.
  • Ensure all checks are in place before students commence any work/industry placement or volunteering opportunity.
  • Monitor and evaluate students' progress during their work/industry placements, ensuring they receive the necessary support and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all work/industry placements, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Deliver placement briefings to students and curriculum staff.
  • Work with curriculum areas to ensure high levels of engagement with the work/industry placement element of study programmes.
  • Where required, visit employers and students who are on placement.
  • Contribute to the completion of DBS checks as required.

  • Respond to email, telephone, and face-to-face enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • To take part in regular professional development as required of the role.
  • To demonstrate an awareness and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion as well as safeguarding and health and safety.
  • Support key admissions events in the College calendar including Open Events, Enrolment, Freshers and Welcome Days.  
  • To carry out any other reasonable requests that may be required from time to time by the Principal and CEO.

As our Industry Placement Officer, you’ll ideally have:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of working in a large, complex organisation.
  • Familiarity with coordinating events or activities and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of the further education sector.
  • Awareness of safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion principles.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a welcoming and professional manner.
  • Competence in using Microsoft Office applications and data management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • A positive and flexible approach to work, with a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Commitment to delivering high quality administrative support and customer service.
  • Enthusiasm for working in an educational environment and supporting students’ progression.
