Brockenhurst College is looking to recruit a permanent, part time Lecturer in Sport & Uniformed Public Service (UPS). In return,you will receive a competitive salary of £33,367 - £44,365 per annum (pro rata). (Unqualified teachers £26,436 to £33,367 per annum (pro rata)).

The Lecturer in Sport & UPS Role:
As our Lecturer in Sport & UPS, you will continually improve the learning experience and achievement of students through effective teaching & learning.
Responsibilities as our Lecturer in Sport & UPS:
- Teach on courses as agreed with the Director of Faculty, Curriculum Leader and the Curriculum Coordinators
- Act as Course Coordinator, if requested.
- Prepare and mark student work, monitor progress towards individual targets, keep records, IV and provide timely reports/reviews to students, parents, employers and College managers, as appropriate.
- Work closely with other colleagues to respond to the needs of students.
- Pay due attention to the principles of inclusive learning including:
- extension resources/activities for students of higher ability;
- general resources, including the use of Information Learning Technology;
- Support for student with learning difficulties and disabilities
- Contribute to the design, delivery and future planning and development of the curriculum.
- Contribute to the teaching/learning resource bank including e resources for the relevant subject/courses.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of developments in the relevant subject/course.
- Develop and maintain effective external links related to the delivery of the subject/course and represent the College at relevant meetings.
- Organise and participate in relevant visits, field trips, both in the UK and overseas.
- Attend and contribute to relevant meetings, including Enrolment/Open Events and Parents’ Evening, as appropriate.
- Advise and assist the Curriculum Leader and other team members in all matters related to the delivery of subject specialisms.
As our Lecturer in Sport & UPS, you’ll ideally have:
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification
- Appropriate teacher training qualification (or working towards this)
- Excellent teaching skills
- Able to manage learners and learning effectively
- Able to develop effective learning resources
- Knowledge and understating of current developments in the relevant curriculum area
- Supportive and positive approach to teaching and learning
- Effective team player
- Good administrative and organisational skills
- Able to meet tight deadlines and handle pressure and a range of demands
