SUN Progression Mentor

Brockenhurst College has an exciting opportunity for a SUN Progression Mentor to join their team. Working on a part time, fixed term contract until 31st July 2020 you will receive a competitive salary of £18,186 - £20,239 pro rata.

The SUN Progression Mentor Role:

You will be responsible for leading and developing the college’s engagement in the NCOP. The post-holder will act as the point of contact for targeted students, working with them on a 1-2-1/small-group basis, to enable them to realise their aspirations, supporting their social and academic progress through to level 4 study, and encourage students to engage in local and national education and employment initiatives.

You will work with staff within Brockenhurst College to raise the profile of SUN and NCOP and will work with colleagues to develop their own SUN-funded, NCOP-focused projects. You will also work with staff to support the development and implementation of a project programme that supports the overall aims of the NCOP. This will also require you to draw together resources from individual partners, training providers, third sector organisations, LEPs and employers to create subject/industry-specific opportunities spanning education and employment.

Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre - Centre Manager

Brockenhurst College has an exciting opportunity for a Centre Manager to join their dedicated and enthusiastic team based at our Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre. You will be working on a full time, permanent basis and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £35,345 per annum.

The Hengistbury Head Outdoor Education Centre is a successful satellite centre of Brockenhurst College. The Centre provides services to community groups, charities, schools, colleges and the public as well as serving the College itself.  The diversity of the centre is quite unique and should be an exciting prospect for any applicant to this post.

Main responsibilities as our Centre Manager:

- Ensure safe operation of all activities at the Centre for staff and visitors in line with College and National Governing Bodies’ (NGB) policies and guidelines.

- Work with partner organisations and other stakeholders to promote the sustainable development of the Centre.

- Drive the strategic development and growth of the Centre and take a lead role in the marketing strategy.

- To optimise a programme of operations, activities and services which balances the need of all users.

- To ensure that all services, equipment and grounds are maintained in a safe condition and in accordance with policies and procedures, within budget.

- Co-ordinate groups and instructors in line with health and safety requirements and NGB legislation.

- Undertaking regular safety checks on equipment, tools and materials used to ensure they comply with Health and Safety Regulations and requirements.

- Plan, manage and deliver a financial budget that is acceptable to the College.

- Maintain a high standard of customer service care focussing on close networking with all clients.

- To lead, manage and train a small team of full time staff as well as a seasonal team and casual staff.

- To drive the recruitment, selection and retention of staff.

- Mentor and evaluate members of the staff team.

- To instruct outdoor activities.

We are looking for a level 3 qualified Nursery Nurse to work within our dedicated and enthusiastic team at Highwood Nursery.

You will need suitable experience of working with children in a group care setting and be able to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of childcare, development and behaviour.

You should be hard working, dedicated, caring and enjoy working with young children in a challenging but rewarding team environment. You need good communication skills both written and verbal and be committed to work flexibly within the high standards expected in our setting.

Although this post will be based in one main area, all staff are required to work flexibly within all areas of the nursery and pre-school with children aged from 3months-5yrs.

International Administration and Accommodation Officer

Brockenhurst College has an exciting opportunity for a International Administration and Accommodation Officer to join their dedicated and enthusiastic team based in Brockenhurst. Main responsibilities as our International Administration and Accommodation Officer:

- Provide an efficient and comprehensive clerical and administrative support to the International Department as required under the direction of the Department Manager.

- Assist the International Department in the smooth operation of all their systems and processes.

- Respond to the manager’s specific instructions and with supervision, to plan and prioritise own work activities to support the delivery of a range of business processes

- Support the International Student Experience Officer in the successful delivery of the homestay programme.  In addition to administrative support, support the recruitment and retention of suitable homestay providers. 

- Provide advice and guidance to beneficiaries and stakeholders on established policies, applying knowledge of systems and processes. 

- Act as a filter for enquiries/issues/problems, escalating those that cannot be resolved to the International Manager as appropriate. 

- Act as the key contact for support and customer service for international agents and partners in conjunction with International Officers to ensure relevant support is provided to team members while they are overseas.

- Assist the International Manager to ensure that the college procedures comply with the UKVI regulations and homestay policies.

- Planning and coordination, with support of other team members and other departments, of the operation of summer/winter schools, English courses, High School Experience programme and other group courses as required by the International Manager
